What We Do
Glass garage doors are reminders of
the former lawn mower repair shop transformed in 1998 with a
coat of paint and lots of charm into Wilshire Garden Market.
The owners, mother / daughter team Carol McPheeters and Christy
White liked the building's 1940's character; and envisioned a
quaint shop hidden underneath the oil, dust, and debris.
Now
it is garden shop chic and, weather permitting, the garage
doors are opened to let the outside in. Its cedar ceilings and exposed ductwork complement the pale
terra cotta masonry walls and marbled green concrete floors.
Doors from an old Victorian house, a vintage porch swing,
latticework, and full size bowers and gazebos set the stage for
an array of garden accessories. Tranquil, eclectic, and
friendly, its ambiance invites visitors to take their time
browsing or planning their personal garden havens. Customers
comment that they come in for ideas and inspiration. Fragrant
candles, lavender and French soaps, pleasant music, and
interesting gifts also make visitors want to linger.
A unique garden shop, Wilshire Garden Market provides the
finest classic fountains, planters and garden accessories made
from cast stone as well as other durable materials. Whether
you are searching for hand forged tools or English teak steamer
chairs, Oregon green moss, bunny statues, or garden gloves for
any occasion, you are likely to find them at Wilshire Garden
Market. Carol and Christy have personally selected some of
their favorite items for you. You can purchase these on our
secure server. If you live in the area, we can hold items for
you to pick up, saving you shipping costs.
The store is also a source of gardening information and referrals. Year
round workshops are led on site by local experts and designers. In
addition, the owners provide personal patio consultations by
appointment and refer customers to reputable landscapers.
