What We Do

Glass garage doors are reminders of the former lawn mower repair shop transformed in 1998 with a coat of paint and lots of charm into Wilshire Garden Market. The owners, mother / daughter team Carol McPheeters and Christy White liked the building's 1940's character; and envisioned a quaint shop hidden underneath the oil, dust, and debris.

Now it is garden shop chic and, weather permitting, the garage doors are opened to let the outside in. Its cedar ceilings and exposed ductwork complement the pale terra cotta masonry walls and marbled green concrete floors. Doors from an old Victorian house, a vintage porch swing, latticework, and full size bowers and gazebos set the stage for an array of garden accessories. Tranquil, eclectic, and friendly, its ambiance invites visitors to take their time browsing or planning their personal garden havens. Customers comment that they come in for ideas and inspiration. Fragrant candles, lavender and French soaps, pleasant music, and interesting gifts also make visitors want to linger.
