The wood used is the flaw-less center cut teak, a wood with high oil content, making it impervious to all types of weather and repellent to insects. (the manu-facturer guarantees its pieces for 100 years!) Teak wood naturally silvers over time. However, to keep its original blonde shade, wash it once a year with soapy water and a soft brush. Shipped flat for easy assembly.
